What Movers are Saying

“I’ve been enjoying classes with Jamie since 2015.  I’ve made MOVE a part of my regular fitness program, because it brings multiple benefits that impact not just my body, but also my mind, heart, and soul. These are some of the reasons I do MOVE:

  • It helps me wake up and energize

  • Joy and wellbeing

  • Mindfulness: it’s grounding and conducive to being in the present moment,  in my body and its sensations.

  • It’s fun! I get to play, make believe, enact the character of each song, and express myself through dance.

  • Being one with the music, letting the energy flow through me, is liberating and exhilarating.

  • Energy, intention, and positive messaging is nurturing and empowering.

  • Self-care, Self-love: it’s an opportunity to appreciate and be with myself, in my body. To get to know it better, explore its possibilities, accept its limitations, and let it BE.

  • Community: being part of a group, dancing together, is motivating, supportive, and nourishing.

And for all of that, I’m very grateful to Jamie and the Tribe that she’s built through MOVE!”

“I thoroughly enjoy moving in Jamie’s online somatic movement classes.  She choreographs freedom and joy and we dance! She chooses both unusual and well-known music pieces and her well-structured choreography fits the music which makes it super fun to dance with her!  She gives gentle but deep suggestions about increasing awareness of your movement while dancing. Two days ago, we worked on clarity while we danced… being clear in the movement of your hands, fingers, feet... I loved it! Jamie is an extraordinary, kind and super-fun creative!  If you get a chance, take her class and see for yourself!”

“My body and mind are transformed after only one hour of dancing.!  The music, choreography and movement allow me to stretch and strengthen every joint and muscle in my body and clear my mind. Truly. Spoken by a person with no natural rhythm, and only a regular yoga practice and a pilates background."

“I have studied dance and movement with Jamie for over four years; I wish I had found her sooner as it has changed my life. I was recommended to her by my doctor who felt it was time for me to start doing cardio-work. How surprised I was that what I thought would be a chore turned out to be one of the highlights of my week. The classes cover the whole range of body movement; there is not a part of my body that does not get attended to. Her enthusiastic, loving approach to her work and her students, make the hour fly by. This is also enhanced by the use of music from different countries which provide different rhythms and moods.

Most important to me is that each session is different so I am never bored. In most movement classes we do the same routine week after week and I find I begin to lose interest. That never happens with here. We have a wide variety of students in the classes, younger, older, fit and just beginning. The instructions are super-clear so it is not hard for beginners to follow along and yet there is enough challenge for long time students to remain engaged. And the benefits from the workout seem to increase my energy level. I used to go home after exercise classes tuckered out. But by some happy miracle, I find that after a session, I am bursting with energy. And finally, those of us in the classes have gotten to know one another both in person and on zoom and I feel I have made many new good friends through our shared experience.”

“I love the accessibility of the classes. Even when I travel, it’s easy to participate. Sometimes when I’m working at my desk and know I can’t move for the full class, I turn off my camera and join in for a song or two in between calls and emails.”

“Jamie is truly a Master in the Art of Body Movement. As a "groupie" of more than 15 years of experiencing her Knowledge, Intuitive Body Flow and Grace, I'm an older woman who has also experienced maintaining some of mine. One finishes a class in peace and smiles and gratitude. We surprise ourselves that we still "have it in us" and more. Her warmth and caring is always present and available, Jamie is a Gift.”
